Well Checked ROR Calculator
What If Emissions Reduction Isn't an Expense?
For years, operators have been told to measure the cost of emissions reduction projects.
We believe they should also measure the value.
These costs don't appear in most LDAR budgets, but they affect every operation.

How Much Are Unmanaged Emissions Costing You?
Using production volumes, revenue assumptions, route-based inspection costs, and peer-reviewed emissions scenarios, the Well Checked ROR Calculator helps operators evaluate rate of return and relative value drivers using their own operating assumptions.
Start with
- 01 Legacy Well (Pre-OOOOa Era)
- 02 Modern Horizontal Well (OOOOa Era)
- 03 Recent Horizontal Well (OOOOb Era)
- 04 Break-Even Well Site

Site visits today
Most operators drive to each site 2–3 times a week. Continuous monitoring turns routine drive-bys into alert-driven visits.
Recovered gas from faster leak detection
Quarterly optical gas imaging (OGI) surveys find an intermittent leak within one year only about 26% of the time, with a median 174 days to first detection when they do (Hodshire et al. 2025, ACS ES&T Air).
The example emission scenarios are based on Appalachian Methane Initiative (AMI) emissions measurements and published research on intermittent emissions. AMI data represent some of the lowest-emitting oil and gas production assets observed in a major U.S. producing basin, while the Hodshire study evaluated facilities equipped with continuous monitoring systems.
These scenarios are intended as conservative examples for exploring potential outcomes and what-if situations. If you have site-specific emissions data, monitoring results, or equipment-level leak rates, use the custom input options to create a scenario that better reflects your operation.
In a Zentinal deployment, continuous monitoring can provide earlier awareness of abnormal emission events and support faster investigation and mitigation than periodic inspection programs alone.

LDAR program savings
EPA's OOOOb rules recognize continuous monitoring as an alternative compliance pathway (40 CFR 60.5398b(d)), replacing contractor OGI surveys. Requires gas detection — Zentinal Core™ or Zentinal IQ™.
What-if analysis
In the AMI 2025 Campaign causal analysis, mechanical failures, stuck dump valves, and flare malfunctions were among the most common unplanned causes of fugitive emissions. These failures also cause unplanned downtime if left undetected. Sound and sight monitoring catch what a methane sensor can't: valve and packing leaks on a compressor, bearings or stuffing box failing on a pumpjack, slipping belts or a failing cooling fan, or an unauthorized vehicle. This section has been left open for you to explore the possibilities based on your experience.
ROR is shown without dollar-level savings, payback, or Well Checked pricing.

From detection to operator value
Most competitors optimize for detection performance.
Well Checked has always optimized for operator value creation first.
Well Checked brings operators a solution, not another problem; cost savings, not an additional expense.
